The new Sabii Photography brand is here!
Today Sabii Photography is launching a new logo. I loved the old logo, and look, and know many felt the same, so I need to explain why I wanted to change and evolve the brand that was established in 2006.
I did not change the logo just to change it, although I had tired of the pink and gray as I found this was not really me anymore in 2020. As a designer I had many months deciding which direction I wanted to take the brand. Was I going to create a brand that was whimsical and pretty, which is quite popular in family portraiture, or create a brand that was really a testament to my style of portrait photography, one of colour, warmth and deep contrast.
Giving a designer a full set of amazing type styles and directions to choose from is the hardest challenge as there was so many ways I could play with the name of the business. Do I choose to go all whimsical with handwritten fonts, do I design a half title case/half handwritten font with a blend of the two or go all title case and choose two colours that are the new direction of my brand?? It was very difficult. In the end I reached out to some amazing designer friends with some potential logo designs. The feedback for the logo I decided to go with was unanimous.
As the brand has matured over the 14 years I chose a colour scheme that worked perfectly with my portraits. My portraits are taken outdoor in the gorgeous Australian sun so a golden yellow was the perfect choice, teamed with a charcoal gray for contrast due to the colourful and high contrast nature in my portraits. I have also created a complementary palette which I can use for promotions and yes I have chosen a handwritten font for headings on my new website, stationary and product guide.
I hope you love the new brand and website. x
So it is goodbye pink and hello yellow!
